Personalized and Customized Summer Daily Skin Care Routine
1. Keep it Close to You
Keep your skin (and yourself) cool with a personalized face mist, especially made for you and your skin needs. Be sure to have the bottle (mist) with you any time you will be spending time out in the heat.
2. Avoid Hot Showers
Have you been out in the sun all day? Chances are your skin is now dehydrated. Taking a hot shower further aggravates the dryness, so it’s best to turn down the temperature to lukewarm and finish with cool water and best cold.
3. Protect Your Scalp
Our scalp is one of the areas we tend to forget until it gets burnt. Avoid this painful mistake by using sunscreen on your scalp as well. Long hair alone doesn’t sufficiently protect your scalp. Lotions are hard to use, though, so invest in a especially made for your scalp spray and spray it down your part and around the base and sides of your scalp.
4. Wear a Large Summer Hat
To go along with protecting your scalp, you can wear a wide brim hat to protect your scalp and shade your face and neck as well.
5. Don’t Forget your Lips
Many times we are focused only on our skin and forget other important areas like our lips. It is ideal to use raw uncooked honey on your lips to keep them sweet, soft and moisturized.
6. Treat your Hands
Another part we tend to forget are our hands. The delicate skin easily wrinkles and pigments, so it’s important to keep them both moisturized and protected with a customized lotion that acts as a sunscreen.
7. Treat the Dark Spots
When people have dark spots (melasma) on their face, it is most likely they appear darker during the summer. It’s rather important to protect the skin well with UVA and UVB protection and invest in a skin customized care product or service specifically to treat dark spots as well as the health of your skin.
Our skin often becomes dry in summer and exfoliating is key. There are many different tools and skin care products that help exfoliate your skin. It is important to know when you can use them. The most effective way is to exfoliate dry skin is right before showering and follow up with a personalized lotion afterwards.
Antioxidants are always important and helpful, however, during the summer months it’s even more important to increase your antioxidants through foods and vitaminic skin care products.
10. Treat Burns Immediately
When you happen to experience sunburn, it’s important to treat it immediately. Sunburn is physical damage to your skin. Even if it “fades to a tan,” it has still damaged your skin and treating it immediately is key. Possible treatments can include items from home such as: aloe, yogurt, milk and lavender.
